OUTSIDE THE LAB

Life, once the
lab coat comes off.

Places, people and city life — selected by Anastasia. Not a directory, not a ranking, and never a list for the sake of a list.

CHOOSE A COUNTRY

Where are we going?

Choose a country first, then open its city edit.

THE DESKS

Seven ways into a city.

01

At the Table

Restaurants, bakeries, wine bars and the places worth making a reservation for.

02

Cafés

Coffee worth leaving the house for, beautiful corners to sit in and the cafés I actually want to return to.

03

After Hours

Cocktails, bars, music, late nights and where the evening should go next.

04

Culture & City

Exhibitions, museums, cinema, design, books and the things worth leaving the house for.

05

Neighbourhood Notes

A more personal way into a city, organised by the neighbourhoods the stories actually belong to.

06

The Shortlist

Highly edited lists for the exact moment you need them: dates, visitors, celebrations and spontaneous plans.

07

One Perfect Day

What to do with a whole day: where to start, where to stop, what to see, where to eat and where the evening should end.

The Notting Hill Bookshop

I have this little tradition with The Little Prince. Whenever I find a bookshop I really love, I look for a copy. I never need another one, obviously, but I still like finding a different edition, a different cover, something slightly new about the same story. So when I finally walked into The Notting Hill Bookshop, I already knew what I was going to look for first.

Bleecker Baker Street: THE Burger

We went to Bleecker on Baker Street because we wanted one thing: a really good burger. We got exactly that. We also got a small reminder that we live in London when we looked at the price.

Why ARKET Will Always Mean More to Me Than Just Coffee

Some places become part of your life without really meaning to. You go in for a coffee, sit down for a while, open your laptop, and before you know it, the place becomes tied to a version of you that was building something. That is a little bit what ARKET became for me. Yes, it is a coffee stop. Yes, it is aesthetically beautiful in that very effortless Scandinavian way. Yes, it is the kind of place where everything looks calm, clean and thoughtfully put together. But for me, it became more than that. This is where my website was also built. And I think that is why it will always have a place in my heart.
